Justin and Emily standing on a river bridge - Foxbridge | Acoustic Folk-Pop Duet

Hello, we’re Foxbridge

Find out more about the voices behind Foxbridge

Foxbridge is an acoustic duo, with harmonies to pierce the soul. Honest, beautiful songs about the dusty rooms of life. Emily Ellicott and Justin Capps formed Foxbridge in 2022, building on a musical partnership that began in early 2019 across various projects. Justin’s voice and guitar carry the sprawling musical landscape of America, while Emily weaves the rich tapestry of English vocal tradition with sophisticated artistry and emotional depth.

When their voices and songwriting skills merge, something entirely new emerges. Characters spring to life, narratives unfold with startling clarity, and the duo creates moments that feel both intimate and expansive.

Foxbridge refuses to stay put. Their sound drifts between Americana, folk pop and roots music—never quite settling into one category but always satisfying. These aren’t newcomers fumbling through their first gigs; they’re seasoned performers who’ve mastered the art of commanding a room. The lead vocalists and songwriters behind Portsmouth’s Original Artist of The Year win in 2019 have earned BBC and local radio support, plus they’ve captivated venue promoters.

Fatea’s Showcase Session Spring 2024: Skin featured Foxbridge as one of “the best rising names across the acoustic spectrum,” establishing their reputation as emerging contemporary Americana folk artists who understand that the most powerful music often comes from the smallest, most honest moments.

Justin Capps

A yard sale guitar changed Justin’s trajectory when he was still a kid. Moving constantly across America, he discovered something steady in those six strings — an anchor that would shape everything that followed.

Now holding a Ph.D. in Music, Justin has built a catalog of original work that reflects both his nomadic childhood and his refusal to respect musical boundaries. Classical training gave him a foundation, but he’s never been content to stay there. Musical theatre taught him how stories work. Jazz showed him the power of the unexpected moment. He draws from all of it, weaving these influences into his Americana folk-pop centre.

This restless approach has created something distinctly his— a voice that’s weathered and warm, carrying emotional weight that lands differently for each listener. In performance, you hear all those musical threads coming together, creating something that feels deeply personal while somehow expanding beyond the venue walls.

Emily Ellicott (Walton)

Emily grew up in Hampshire, England, where creativity took root early and refused to let go. Her world has always been movement, colour, and sound—dancing, visual arts, music—all feeding into the artist she’s become. Years of classical training and musical theatre built her four-octave range and razor-sharp technique, but it was jazz improvisation that taught her how to breathe life into a song.

Watch Emily perform and you’ll see someone who understands that music lives in the body as much as the voice. She moves with purpose, each gesture carrying weight, her posture shifting to serve the story unfolding. When she opens her mouth to sing, she doesn’t just hit notes—she becomes the song. Her voice finds exactly the texture each moment needs, painting emotional landscapes that draw you in completely.

She’s co-written many of the compositions that define Foxbridge’s identity, creating stories that find their mark with audiences and revealing her triple nature as performer, songwriter, and creative architect.
